Where it all Began

Ten years ago, in a lounge room in Narellan, Help at Home Education began. This service provided support for students who found learning a challenge. Within this service children, parents and families were nurtured and encouraged. Not only were tutoring and assessments for children provided, but so was direction for the often difficult areas to navigate such as: accessing funding, specialists and schools.

The homeschooling community allowed Help at Home Education to run alongside many students and their parents providing the direction, assistance and resources, to successfully complete school at home.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 received support for their learning, especially in the key areas of English, Mathematics and Life Skills.

In addition, many parents accessed Help at Home Education so their children could participate in a detailed screening assessment where a student profile was created, outlining their child's strengths and needs, along with practical activities and direction, for their future growth and development.

Working closely with students and their families found Help at Home Education frequently sought out to provide  reassurance and thoughtful direction on parenting practices and behaviours. This demand for sensitive and tender care of families continues to increase. After reflecting on the elements that made Help at Home Education so successful, an idea to integrate more support services, to link families to appropriate stakeholders, to design purposeful and individual programs and learning experiences, began to grow.

The result, educate-U!
